CV
(Curriculum Vitae) plays an important role in professional life. As it is the
way that helps us to get a job in our desired company or organization. In other
words, we can say through a resume we are professionally defining and marketing
ourselves. For this reason, our resume must have a professional look as every
organization and company looks CV that must be up to the mark and follows all
the standards.
WHY RESUME SHOULD BE PROFESSIONAL?
There
are certain reasons for which we must work on giving a professional view to our
resume. The very initial reason is that look matters a lot when you apply for
reputed jobs or scholarships, and it is a CV that represents us. Moreover, the
attractiveness of cv assists an interviewer to select your cv and in this way, we
increase the chances of getting an interview call.
MISTAKES WE DO IN OUR CV or RESUME:
The
very first mistake we do with our cv is to make it bore and lengthy. An
interviewer takes hardly 6 to 15 seconds to review our resume and if our cv does
not appeal at the first glance then there are vivid chances of losing the
opportunities.
Due
to some giant reasons for which we do not get the call when we apply for a job
or any scholarship.
1. The biggest reason is that we follow the traditional
cv format. We get an old cv, then just make some changes in it like name,
contact info and we are done. We usually find cut corners during making a resume,
but actually, this is an extremely bread-and-butter and unprofessional way we pursue.
2.
We write each and everything in detail in our resume. It seems we write short
stories and summaries about ourselves. This procedure of writing detailed
descriptions of us gives a strange and unprofessional look to our resumes.
3.
Using weird email IDs like sadheart@xyz.com rockingboy@xyz.com etc. These types
of email addresses give inappropriate gaze
to our resume
The aforementioned becomes the consequences of
losing golden opportunities as they make a reviewer of our CV bored. So always
try to avoid writing things in in-depth detail, and use the email that contains
merely your name.
IMPORTANT THINGS FOR A PROFESSIONAL
CV:
Here
are some important things which we must include in our resume in order to give
it a professional look.
1.
RELEVANCY: You must be relevant
according to the job, and do not add irrelevant information that does not match
with the job.
2.
KEYWORDS (PROFESSIONAL TITLES): For
avoiding long writing in the resume you must use professional titles for
presenting yourself. For instance, if you are applying for an IT job write
“Problem solver” instead of writing I can sort out various problems related to
IT. Here are some other words which you can use to describe yourself
professionally.
◘ Innovator

using strangely named email addresses as people use strange titles along with
their names like brokenheart, hunterahmed, etc as these names are considered to
be extremely unprofessional.
7.
MENTION INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK HANDLE:
If you are applying for digital marketing then you also have to mention your
social media expertise. Remember do not mention just that you are managing a
Facebook or Insta page. Instead of it, write as: “Manage a business page on Instagram that has led to over 90k followers
(up by 75%), and enhanced 8% in revenue”.
8.
SPECIFIC ABOUT YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS: Explain
your achievement specifically rather than generally, and more importantly use
