HEC
(HIGHER EDUCATION COMMISSION) has brought a new amendment in its educational
policy and has brought new reform by introducing USAT (Undergraduate studies
Admission Test) like LAT (LAW ADMISSION TEST) which is mandatory for getting
admission in the law department. But now
those students who will seek admission to any university in Pakistan will have
to qualify for USAT (Undergraduate studies Admission Test) along with the entry test of their desired university.
Before that, a student used to give only the entry test of university, but
according to the new policy introduced by HEC, now every student will give 2
tests to enroll himself or herself in any university of Pakistan.
WHAT ARE THE PASSING MARKS OF THE HEC
USAT?
The
passing is 50 or more than 50 marks. More marks will flourish your CPN.
WHAT IS THE TEST PATTERN OF THE HEC
USAT?
The
total marks of USAT (Undergraduate studies Admission Test) are 100 and it is divided into 2 parts. Part I
is of 75 marks, and it is further divided into two categories: VERBAL (35) AND QUANTITATIVE REASONING (40).
On the other hand, Part-II is of 25 marks. It is an essay writing skills section
in which a student will have to write an essay of 400 to 500 words either in
English or Urdu on the given topic during the test. The total time allocated
for the test is 140 minutes (2.3 hours) for both portions. However, 100 minutes
will be given for Part-I and 40 minutes for Part-II.

WHO CANNOT GIVE THE HEC USAT TEST?
This test is valid for all disciplines' students except MBBS, BDS or Nursing students. Those students who are going to apply for MBBS, BDS or Nursing students are not liable to give this test.
WHAT WILL BE THE BENEFIT OF HEC USAT?
The
benefit of the HEC USAT test is that the weightage of your HEC USAT test will
be included in your university score and the merit percentage will be
calculated accordingly. The HEC USAT marks
may increase your CPN and become the reason for getting admission to your
desired university.
HOW FREQUENTLY HEC USAT WILL BE
TAKEN:
According
to the recent announcement this test will be taken 4 times a year in the major
cities of Pakistan. This policy of taking the test may change in the upcoming
time. For now, it will quarterly be taken.
CAN A STUDENT GET ADMISSION TO ANY
UNIVERSITY WITHOUT HEC USAT?
No,
according to the new educational policy, all students except MBBS, BDS or Nursong must qualify for this
test to get himself or themselves enrolled in the university, or else will not be
able to get the admission to any university. Thus, a student will have to give
2 tests. One is USAT, and another is
the entry test university.
CAN AWAIT STUDENT GIVE THE HEC USAT?
Those
students who have recently given their intermediate examination, and are
waiting for their results can give the test of the HEC USAT.
