Seriousness plays an essential role when you perform a particular
task, and without this factor of seriousness, we cannot accomplish or even
execute the task. In other words, we can define seriousness as an obsession for
achieving something in life. As far as study is concerned, a student is always
emphasized to focus on his or her studies actively and seriously as education leads
him to the acme of success. Many bright stars have achieved the milestones with
having seriousness in their work, and we can take CSS qualifiers and other award-winning
champions as an example of their earnestness.
If we look at today’s students, we unable to find such seriousness among
them, and there can be various reasons which we will discuss in this article about
their lack of seriousness among them.
REASONS:
1. TECHNOLOGY:
Technology makes things very accessible and easy for people, and in
the same way, it makes people lazy as well. With the rise of technology,
students have become dependent rather than independent. They have become a copy-paste
machine, and have no more willing power to explore things themselves neither
they even dare to express or present their ideas. There is mostly use of the
technology whenever they are assigned any task, assignment, or project, and due
to this their seriousness significantly declines.
2. EMERGING OF SOCIAL
MEDIA:
A major portion of youth is found on different social media forums
where they spend their precious time. A lot of applications have been launched where
they make videos and other kinds of stuff to earn fame as well as money. They have
no more motivation or encouragement to serve their country.
3. GAMES:
Several games have been launched in the world of the internet which
have become an immense craze for our students. Nowadays, the most addictive
game, PUBG, has greatly influenced almost every age of students. They usually play
the game even during their exams for late hours; most of the talks are about
discussing the levels of the game, and in this manner, they are staking their
future due to this game.
4. A BUSINESS MIND:
It is also being observed that everyone is shifting towards the
field of business as there is a significant ratio of unemployment in our
country and they think a business is the best source to earn some handsome
amount of earnings nowadays. They believe that education does not matter for
running a business and therefore, youngsters do not pay attention to their studies,
and thus, setting their minds for starting
a successful business rather get into a profession.
5. COVID-19:
Covid-19 has not only affected the economy of rate a country, but it
put its harsh impact on study too. In this pandemic situation educational
institutes were closed for a long time ever in history, and due to the closure
of schools, colleges, and universities, students acquired other ways to keep
themselves busy, and detached themselves from the study. Moreover, the
cancellation of the examination and promotion to the next class without examination
was also one of the greatest reliefs and a piece of cake for them which made
students more relaxed and less serious about the study.
6. COMMUNICATION GAP:
In this period of inflation, all parents want to give their children
a better lifestyle, and for this reason, they work almost all day, and due to
this, their major portion of time spend in their jobs. In giving a better life,
the communication gap increases between parents and children as well. Merely hiring
a tutor is not enough for kids as children need some motivation and encouragement
from their parents as well, and due to a busy schedule, parents do not properly
communicate with their kids.
It is also observed that not only kids, but also parents completely
thread with tutors as students do not give time to their studies at home as they
feel that they have executed their responsibility by studying at tuition centers,
and they are sufficiently equipped with knowledge merely at coaching institutes.
Along with students, their parents’ thinking has shifted there too. Moreover, they
blame their kids’ tutors or school management for the poor performance of a
student, and this kind of favoritism with their kids becomes the reason for their
lack of seriousness towards the studies.
CONCLUSION:
Thus, a serious is an essential factor for the execution of
anything in our life. Unfortunately, we are unable to find this in today's
students. In an interview taken from several kids for their future ambitions by
a YouTube channel, but none of them selected a profession which becomes the reason
for doing well out for their country. So, we should motivate and encourage our
kids to serve their country as they are the future of their countries.
