Boss and
leader both terms have almost the same meaning but despite it, there is an enormous
difference between them. In this article, we will differentiate between the
qualities of a boss and a leader.
Here are
some qualities that define whether a head of an organization is a boss or a leader.
1. A boss always wants their employees to do what
he instructs them while a leader always wants to lead their employees along
with him.
2. A
boss always gives voice to “I”, and on the other hand, a leader says “we”
3. A
boss always gives commands to their employees. Meanwhile, a leader asks and
listens to his people.
4. A leader
welcomes innovative ideas from his employees, and a boss never does so. He just
imposes his ideas and directs their workers to execute them.
5. In
some cases, a boss puts down their employees despite having his own mistake. However,
a leader does the opposite of it as he upraises his workers, and he improves
them, even if his employer has done something wrong.
6. A boss
uses and even sometimes abuses staff for his benefits. But, a leader possesses an enormous affection for his
workers; he always looks good in them.
7. A
leader has mastery of inspiration which encourages his employees to do
something creative. Meanwhile, a boss has mastery of manipulation which does
not uplift staff rather it bludgeons them.
8. A
boss always points out a finger at his people for demanding the results, but a
leader remains committed and determined to his vision, and for which he always
extends his hands towards his workers.
9. The management of a boss always sows the
seeds of fears among his staff, but a leader’s management makes employees feel cherished
and special, and due to this, a leader always earns respect.
10. In
terms of credit, a leader always gives credit and honor to his employers for their
inspiring and phenomenal performance. Meanwhile, a boss takes the credit on behalf
of his staff’s enactment.
