"Round and Around" both are prepositions, but people face a little bit of confusion while using them. In this article, I will tell you what is the difference between round and around.

 

Round: We use Round when something is fixed in a circular shape/position. Let's clear it with certain examples.

Examples:

The Earth revolves round the sun.

 Annaya had a scarf round her neck.

Ahmed’s family sat round the table.

 

Around: The usage of around is quite different from round. We use around when there is something not fixed in a circular position. Once again clear it with  certain examples:

Examples:

Mr. Anyatullah is building a wall around his house.

People are sitting around the tree.

Nancy is finding her dog around the garden.
